A trencher is a heavy machine much like a giant chainsaw that is used to dig a deep and wide trench for the installation of cable, pipe, and sewer lines. As the dirt, rock, and sand come out of the trench, they come to rest on the ground or are fed into the machine and onto a spoil belt.
